The newly appointed Zonal Commanding Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS8 Ilorin, Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Ann O. Oladayo, has officially assumed duty in Ilorin, Kwara State capital
Oladayo takes over from ACM M. Onukwubiri.
The RS8 Zonal Command, headquartered in Ilorin, has operational oversight over Kwara, Ekiti and Kogi States.
Oladayo assumed office following her redeployment from the RS2 Zonal Headquarters in Lagos where she previously served as Zonal Commanding Officer.
On arrival at the RS8 Headquarters, she was warmly received by the Sector Commander, RS8.1 Kwara, and other principal officers of the Command.
She inspected a Quarter Guard before proceeding to the parade ground, where officers and men of the Zone were assembled.
Addressing the personnel, Oladayo expressed her gratitude to the Corps Marshal, FRSC, for the confidence reposed in her and the opportunity to serve in Zone RS8. She also commended officers and men of the Command for their impressive turnout and warm reception.
The Zonal Commander outlined her key operational and administrative priorities, stressing the need to enhance staff welfare and urging personnel to pay close attention to their health and well-being. She emphasized improved operational visibility on major highways across the Zone as a critical focus area.
Oladayo further highlighted the importance of timely and accurate report rendition, prompt rescue and response to Road Traffic Crash (RTC) victims, swift clearance of road obstructions, and strengthened stakeholder collaboration as essential measures for reducing road traffic crashes.
She also underscored the need for sustained public enlightenment campaigns to educate motorists and other road users on safe road practices, noting that road safety is a shared responsibility requiring the active participation of all stakeholders.
The Zonal Commanding Officer assured officers and men of inclusive and purposeful leadership, while calling for professionalism, dedication and teamwork in advancing the Corps’ mandate of ensuring safer roads across the Zone.
