Ethiopian airlines, Africa’s largest network carrier and one of the fastest-growing airline brands globally, has announced the launch of a new passenger service to Hanoi, Vietnam, starting July 10, 2025. The new route will operate four times a week, connecting Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airlines’ hub, to Hanoi, providing passengers with seamless travel options between Africa and Southeast Asia.
The new service is a strategic move to further enhance Ethiopian Airlines’ global connectivity, particularly strengthening its presence in the Southeast Asian market. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mesfin Tasew, expressed the airline’s excitement about expanding its network and creating stronger ties between Vietnam and the airline’s extensive international reach. “We are pleased to expand our presence in Southeast Asia and enhance air connectivity for our customers in the region,” Tasew stated. “This new route will create opportunities for stronger ties and collaborations between Vietnam and our global network.”
The flight will not only provide vital air links for business and leisure travelers but also facilitate increased trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Ethiopia. The new service also connects to Ethiopian Airlines’ extensive network across Africa, Europe, and the Americas, offering more convenient travel options for passengers.
The launch of the Hanoi route is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ ongoing strategic expansion, reinforcing its position as the most connected airline in Africa.
